The truth shall set you free

We read in John 8:32 that the truth shall make you free. However, Eve recited verbatim the truth to Satan. Furthermore, the freedom that the Christian speaks of is nothing but disobedience to the will of God (who is Jesus) in Moses.

(31) Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples; (32) and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32 ASV
